Important note: the tracks should be added in the same order as on the original CD. Of course, you should add all the tracks of the album.
Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4. Also you need working Internet connection. Theoretically MP3Names is compiled as a universal application but I have no Intel-based Mac to check if it works.
Version history:
0.3.2 Added drag-and-drop support for rearranging files in the list. Added drag-and-drop support for adding files to the list. The program can now open (recursively) directories not only files.
0.2.4 Initial public release.
Missing features: A lot. Most notably no way to save the search result in any way. Most errors are unprocessed. No Applescript.
What is it for? Well... Now it’s not very useful but you can use MP3Names to discover what is that 01.mp3, 02.mp3, ..., 13.mp3 in your home folder, to check that you have the whole album ripped with no songs missing and for whatever you want.
Technical limitations: When you rip music from CD, you lose some information, used for calculating disc ID in cddb-like databases. I’m trying to guess that information but no warranties given.
License: Free as in “free beer”. At least now. Any kind of commercial usage is forbidden.
